rainy wednesday

it seems like longer ago to tuesday. not enough sleep. the good thing is that my arm is feeling much better hooray! lol. but its good. also good was the run today. easy 4 miles with luke andrew yoon etc. 2 loops in HH. pleasently cool and damp/grey which obv i like. i pretty much like any weather thats not snowy or cold heh. then i did a relaxed mile of strides on the track 6:45 with the straightaways in like 22-24. do that twice a week that can be my workout haha along with a steady run in HH. Start next week.

Outdoor starts tomorrow which is exciting. It should be a very good season(at least).

States/Birthday ramp-up

So the State meet was solid. First half of meet very good second half ok. 4x8 fair,300 very good Imani PR 40.94 for 2nd looking quite good. 500 quite good Ash ina typical come from behind close win PR snd state champ yay! High Jump solid 5'0 and 4'10 for 4th and 8th. AT that point we were in 2nd place. Najatee false start in hurdles meh too bad. Shotput was right at the beginning also and that wasnt good they got there late grr. 4x2 was fair they ran well but handoffs stinky.800 was meh as they couldnt score- need to get stronger. It went out fairly slow so the times were slow but they should have been able to get something i think. Ash needs to get her head around that which she will. Still a state championship is pretty good haha. Honestly she is still pretty much a novice lol.

Boys had an ok effort. 4x8 9th which was fairly blah they ran ok not bad but not great. scott l 206/darin 208/scott r 217/sterling 208? i think. 55hur and 55 esanye and dre didnt qualify too bad. scott did 208 i think in 800- the 4x2 was good and so was the 4x4. Darin could be exciting in outdoor def we shall see.

For me im going to do good distance in march with steady runs 1-2 times/week. Goal is to be to 45 mpw by end of march on like 7-8 runs per week max then add some doubles back in in April. So far yesterday was 46 min for 6 w TT and dave and today was 35 min for 4.5 with some of the franklin guys.

Regionals!

SO we tied for the win at regionals which was obv exciting. Scored in every event except PV where Naomi was close to making it over esp on the 1st attempt. It was 83-82 going into 4x2,800,4x4 so we got 3rd in 4x2 and they got 5th i believe then the 800 was obv awesome with Ash and Jenna against Ashwood(haha) and Emily V. Ash was 15-20m down w 1 lap to go and made up about 14-19m of that on Ashwood to get second. Jenna continued her excelletn winter with a 228 for 4th so it came down to the 4x4. We were 15m down after 2 legs meh and Ash was too tired so she prob ran like a 70- not used to doing that unfortunately. Then Imani cruised and I wasnt even paying attention to the other heat but we Barely! beat Aberdeen i think it was by like .3 or .4 so it ended up a tie. Then we won the coin toss for the plaque haha- Tails never Fails.

So going into the state meet we have 12 entries which is more than any other team- good. Stupid hereford will be fairly hard to beat but we can do it def. They might get 1,2 in both 16 and 32 but hopefully not. Plus watch out for Milford obv. If Imani and Ash can have big days we can be right up there with a chance. PLus lots of other events need to hopefully chip in with points- 4x2,SP,Olivia,Jenna,4x8 etc. We had every person that competed except like 1 score in regionals we will need something similar in the state meet to have a chance to win. However it is nice to have a chance to win rather than not haha.

The boys also did well with 9 qualifiers. Im going to go over all the state qualifiers in that tonight.

Running has been better than horrendous at least. 5 days of running in the first week and 6 last week then no run today. The first week went well with 3 workouts culminating in a 5:08 mile at PG. Meh. Last week was 6 days of running but mostly easy running oh well. My feet are fairly much better my knee is ok but still troublesome. It would be nice to start running more though. I think I will run tomorrow morning at mcd.
