so for today at least old c.s. had it right. This was easily the best run since i started this glob- i cant remember a distance run this good for years. ran at mcd- did the new loop just to check it out then got on course. It was 6:23 to get to the mile mark at that point i felt quite good but was mostly just monitoring my knee. then checked an approx time at 1.25 and it was 1:40ish for that 400 so that was surprising- rolled down the hill to the 1.5 which now i cant remember but it was good. Just kept cruising to the 2 so that mile was 635- the main thing is it felt like 8 min pace- or really easier than that just nice floating along. So went over to the woods and ran the loop in 8:01 which is normally the steady run pace- still felt easy(that is 624 pace?!?). Finally started to get tired on the last mile back a little which was 3:09(flat)/3:19(up the hill). I didnt like gun it to get a fast time but i pushed a little. Finished up back to the track it was 37:37 total for a bit more than 5.5- its actually nice that the distance is somewhat undetermined as then its less likely to get obsessive about future runs heh. Although its also nice to get some of the split times.
This is obv encouraging- 628 up the hill is getting semi close to that mythic run at some point on the monday night runs when i did that mile in 600. Its also nice that this sort of just came out of the blue heh- of course now ill prob have a month of slogging along at 730 pace lol.
Obv the sumer running with anna was good and im in a good position once my knee fully heals up(it was about 80-85% today). Ill prob run w franklin easy 3-4 tom am- maybe maybe run tom pm- the nice thing about having good runs is that it gives you the confidence to rest if necessary(not too much though lol). Also i have been sleeping more the last two days which always makes a difference. I feel like im in moderate sleep derivation at all times which is obv not ideal. I will work on that.
The team is also off to a good start. The had a very good workout today. Girls varsity looks excellent- best Franklin team ever potentially- we just have to get viki on track shes the only one who is struggling. Merritt,Ashley!,Laura,Erika,Sierra(just have to convince her to do the races shes in her best shape ever). That is a good team- maybe not beating hereford but not laying down and dying for them either. I want to beat Catonsville! and maybe Dulaney!?
Boys are looking good as well- Sterling.Michael,Scott,Esanye,Jeff maybe Sterlyn??!
Also im excited about the JV possibilities- a lineup of Oscar,Matt,Collin,Brent,we need one more which could be Martin- hes been running for all of 10 days and is starting to look ok. Good times- today at least
